The scene can be hypnotic to those who have not witnessed the staggering number of geese that take to the air on a Northwest Missouri morning. But the trance is soon broken by a group that has committed to your spread. It can be difficult not to spring from your lay-out blind early, but patience is soon rewarded. Bring plenty of shells.

We hunt geese in Northwest Missouri near Squaw Creek National Wildlife refuge, which is a major staging area for over a million Snow, Blue and Ross Geese. The snow geese hunts run from the middle of February through the end of March, during the Conservation Order. The Conservation Order has been called to thin out the over populated Snow Geese. This order is very liberal, allowing for the use of electronic calls, unplugged guns and no limits. This makes for fast and furious action. The hunts take place on both land and water on private leases. For up-close and personal shooting and comfort and concealment, we use finisher blinds. We also use large spreads of decoys to insure hunter success. |
